Saturday afternoon, after at least three
square meals of heavy carb.'s, very easy to do in a
college town like Athens, we join the assembled masses
for a short skate. The hills have gotten steeper. Though
it's my downhill run by the Holiday Inn Express that
really gives me the feel for what tomorrow might be like.
(I like it.)

Yes that's me in front of the "Velvet Elvis"

Back in the hotel room, Hillary has sent along a
banner of good cheer, pasta and well wishes for tomorrow.
Tom and I then spend the evening doing what nobody else
in all of Athens would even have thought of doing. We
watch the Braves beat up on the Cubbies, instead of
watching the Bulldogs at LSU.

What we did after that was anything but
sleep, we pinned numbers on our shirts and shorts, we
packed for the morning, we repinned and repacked, we lay
down, we got up. The lights did finally go out but we
really didn't sleep. (Did you?)
